It’s almost that time of year again when we turn our clocks back an hour, which means an extra hour of sleep for some. However, you may want to consider using that additional hour to jump-start your fitness routine and stay motivated as Daylight Savings Time officially ends this Sunday, November 3.
With our Fall 3 Session set to kick-off on Monday, November 11, here are some excellent tips to help you embrace a healthy lifestyle as you ‘fall back’ an hour:
Make Adjustments to Your Workout Schedule
Perhaps one of the most troubling parts of Daylight Savings Time is losing an hour of daylight. If you normally exercise in the evening, you may want to consider working out in the morning or during the day. Don’t allow the loss of daylight to be an excuse to skip the gym.
Try a Group Class
Once you have made adjustments to your workout schedule, be sure to find new ways to stay motivated. A great option is to try a group fitness class. Group exercise classes will help you keep a consistent schedule and you’ll be able to transition your workouts to indoors.
Get Enough Sleep
Sleep is key for your health and fitness. Lack of sleep can lead to a reduction in your workout efforts. And, by not getting enough sleep before your workout, you are more susceptible to injuries.
