Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, also known as CPR, is an emergency life-saving technique that’s performed when the heart stops beating. More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospital walls annually, which makes bystander CPR extremely important. Immediate CPR can double or triple the chances of a person’s survival.
If you’re looking to learn this vital skill, the Morris Community YMCA and Morris Hospital and Healthcare Centers are teaming up this spring to offer a Friends and Family CPR class in Grundy County.
Open to area residents, ages 12 and older, this training will provide participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to recognize and provide lifesaving care in a medical emergency until first responders arrive.
Date: Wednesday, April 17
Time: 5-7:30 p.m.
Location:
Shabbona Middle School
725 School Street
Morris, IL 60450
Cost: $5 per person
Please note: This class will be taught in a Friends and Family format. Participants will not earn a CPR certification for completing this course.
